Bill Gallaher

Bill Gallaher has been a general contractor since 1979. He started as a home builder and expanded into other real estate ventures such as apartment complexes, office buildings and shopping centers, all within Sonoma County.

Starting with his purchase of Oakmont in 1986, most of Bill’s work since that time has been in the senior housing industry.  In 1995, he co-founded Aegis Living and began building Assisted Living and Dementia Care Communities. In 2001, he founded Oakmont Senior Living and subsequently expanded into the development of Independent and Continuing Care Retirement Communities. In 2011, Bill’s partnership with Aegis was dissolved, but he continued to develop and build new Assisted Living and Dementia Care senior communities while contracting with a 3rd party management company to operate them. In 2012 he partnered with Chris Kasulka to create Oakmont Management Group, which now serves as the in-house operations group for all Oakmont Senior Living senior communities.

Bill also served for thirteen years as a Director on the Board of Northern Empire Bancshares. He resigned his position in 2003. In January 2005, Bill founded First Community Bank in Sonoma County, and currently serves as Chairman of the Board,

Bill and his wife, Cindy started North Bay Adoptions in 1990.  It was a nonprofit corporation that operated for 13 years and facilitated the adoption of foreign born children by North American families. A native of Sonoma County, Bill and his wife Cindy live in Santa Rosa where they raised their 5 children.
