Bill Gallaher

FOUNDER, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Bill Gallaher began his career as a general contractor in 1979, first building homes and later expanding into multi-family and commercial projects throughout Sonoma County. He eventually transitioned into senior housing, developing communities for companies including Chancellor Health Care, Atria, ARV, and Sunrise. He went on to co-found Aegis Assisted Living and later established Oakmont Senior Living and Oakmont Management Group. The Gallaher family has developed 62 senior communities across the Western states and now retains seven of the original portfolio to maintain a stronger focus on quality operations.

Bill also founded and chairs Poppy Bank, a locally based institution with over $5 billion in assets. Recognized as one of the strongest financial institutions in the nation, Poppy Bank has funded hundreds of small businesses and community projects across the country while maintaining a strong commitment to local economic development.

Over decades of economic ups and downs, Bill and his companies have navigated shifts in construction, senior housing, and banking with a commitment to quality, integrity, and responsiveness to changing markets. This approach has supported the family, their long-time employees, and the financial strength of every Gallaher Companies project.

Bill and his wife, Cindy, lifelong Sonoma County residents, have raised five children in Santa Rosa and remain deeply committed to the community. Their philanthropic efforts include building over 100 homes for 2017 Tubbs fire victims at under market cost, supporting the Boys and Girls Club with over $5 million in contributions, rescuing critical recovery programs for women and children, and founding North Bay Adoptions, which placed over 300 children with local families from 1990-2203.
